Amy Ihlan is a graduate of Macalester College and Harvard Law School, and has a Ph.D. in philosophy from the University of Minnesota. She recently taught as an adjunct professor in the Philosophy Department at Macalester College. She has also taught philosophy at Cornell College, and legal writing and civil procedure at William Mitchell College of Law. Amy served as a City Council Member in Roseville, a suburb of the Twin Cities. Ms. Ihlan began her legal career at Dorsey & Whitney before joining Briol & Associates in June 1998. Her current law practice focuses on securities arbitration, minority shareholder and commercial litigation. She also advises securities brokers and investment advisers on compliance and regulatory issues. Ms. Ihlan is a qualified neutral mediator and arbitrator, and is very interested in alternative dispute resolution in addition to law and philosophy. Ms. Ihlan is admitted to practice in Minnesota.
